Art I is a beginning art class that fulfills the art graduation requirement. This course is designed to be an exploration into the world of Visual Arts. Students are offered a variety of comprehensive art experiences with an in depth exploration in areas that include but are not limited to: painting, drawing, sculpture, and environmental art. This course allows the opportunity to experiment with a variety of mediums, study art history and work in an environment that nurtures artistic risk taking. Instructor will model creativity on a regular basis. Art will be a means of crossing disciplines to enhance the students overall learning experience.
SKETCHBOOKS: ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO KEEP A SKETCHBOOK. THE FIRST TEN MINUTES OF CLASS EACH DAY IS DEDICATED TO A SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENT. STUDENTS WILL MOST LIKELY BE WORKING ON THESE SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENTS AT HOME AS WELL. SKETCHBOOKS WILL BE DUE AT THE END OF EACH QUARTER.
Supplies Students Will Need: Sketchbook at least 5"x7", 2B Pencil, 6B Pencil
