I can't believe that we are halfway through this year already! My first semester at Cypress High has flown by and I have been continually impressed by the talents of the students. I'm sharing some pictures of the Torn Paper Collage project that was due today. Wow! So fun to see the student's hard work and dedication in these works of art. Many of these will be displayed in the office during the month of January. Happy Holidays!

Each class period we start our day with 10 minutes of sketching. Students are given a prompt for inspiration. By the end of the semester, students had 30 sketches to hand in. Here are a few of my favorites:

Meet Mrs. Mort
So excited to enter my 4th year at Cypress Charter H.S.! This is my 15th year of teaching high school art. Before teaching my sole career was painting--that of course was loads of fun but I find much more joy in passing on my love of art to my students. When I'm not in the classroom, you will find me hiking, traveling, spending time with family, making something and drinking tea...lots of tea. If you are on campus, stop in and say hello. Archives
